The gel nails look & feel like your own nails, and no glue is needed! Features Just wish my CVS had as many styles in ImPress as the glue ones. Now with PureFit Technology, imPRESS Press-on Manicure is super slim and super comfortable. My tips fray bad without some sort of protection. This will let them grow out while basically keeping the tips covered with a protective shell. Very damaging to nail strength and growth.Īlso, if you want to protect the nail to grow out a little and have brittle nails. Still worth it to me though.the surgeons glue does a good job protecting the nail plate from superglue's effect of destruction. Days 4 to 6 would be either the end or the beginning of the end. The nails would get hair behind the nail at the base when washing my hair. I'd have to pressurize the base after getting my hands wet while working, showering or cleaning. The tip seemed to hold well, but at the base, I felt the glue was weaker and the whole nail started to see-saw off. I may have gotten 1 week out of them, tops. However, your mileage may vary, so what works for me may not work for you. gluing them in place helps, as anytime I have tried glue on nails, they fall off in a couple of days. I think the flexibility of the sticky stuff vs. ![]() I do wait at least an hour before washing my hands or getting them wet, and I use the file to even the tips, as there’s always a little “nib” from where they detached them from the mold or whatever at the factory. I apply one by one, as you do, and make sure I am putting extra pressure for at least thirty seconds to a minute per nail, sort of pushing all over as I hold it down. Otherwise I have to remove them myself after two weeks.Īfter finding my sizes for each nail, I do not buff beforehand, I just do what the instructions say as far as pushing the cuticle back, then using the alcohol pad to wipe down my nails. Here’s my two cents: I only use imPress nails when I do press on nails because they have literally lasted me two weeks, with MAYBE one or two coming off in that time, but that’s because I am a nurses aide who’s hands are always being washed or sweaty from patient care all day, every day. I don’t do salons anymore but I love my press ons. I developed a severe allergy to gel last year and lost half my nail bed. 10 minutes and they lift off with an orange stick without causing damage to your natural nails. I soak mine off in a bowl of hot water, soap and a spoon of coconut oil. I very rarely have any pop off if prepped properly and applied with glue. Those literally pop off if you do anything. They will not last two weeks with the sticky backing. If you want them to last, the prep work is important. I generally don’t have to file the sides for fit but you can if you have smaller nails. Pushing back your cuticles before application helps them look more natural. A drop on each is literally all you need, spread that drop with the tip. I apply glue to both my natural nail and the faux nail and hold in place for a few seconds. I use a regular nail file and gently rough my nail bed a bit. You don’t want to buff your nails, a buffer will make your nails smooth and shiny. ![]() I could stretch it to 3 if I had to but they start growing out like acrylics would. They’re thicker at the tip and hold up beautifully without wearing off from typing. I get basic acrylic ones in Medium, from the Natural line. I love Kiss press ons but I’m not a big fan of the imPress line. Or some people saying don't trim/cut the nails at all, others showing you how to do it.Īlso I know you shouldn't get them wet for the first hour or so, and shouldn't file them until the adhesive has set (like a half hour or so), and I'm wondering if some negative reviews came from people ignoring that stuff.ĭo they actually last 2-ish weeks if you don't use a little nail glue and just use the sticky backing?Īny issues with them randomly popping off, or is it more like they get kind of squishy where the adhesive is/slide around on the nail bed when they're at the end of wear?Īnything else I should know but missed or better brands I should consider instead? But others say these last 2-3 weeks when they buff first, and last a shorter time when they don't. Like some people are saying don't buff your nails with a file first, just use the alcohol pad and apply. There are also mixed tips, which is kinda confusing. The Kiss imPress ones look cute, and I'm thinking that a clear top coat after filing would help it look more natural, but there are mixed reviews. I live in a tiny rural town where the closest place to get my nails done is a 2+ hour drive, so give me some thoughts on press-on nails.
